Centrally located just two blocks from Main Street, the Canmore Skating Pond is popular with locals and visitors. Many winter activities take place here, such as Skate with Santa, Kid & Mutt Races, Ice Carving and New Years celebrations. Everyone is welcome to come and skate at this rink maintained by the Canmore Parks department. Sticks and pucks, however, are not permitted. Features include picnic tables and night lights on until 10pm.

Canmore Recreation Centre features two NHL sized arenas. The ice is used for a variety of activities including minor hockey, figure skating, speed skating and learn-to-skate programs. The public are allowed to skate at scheduled times iun the winter and during weekends in the summer (July and August).

An outdoor rink, this facility is used primarily for hockey and is maintained by the Town of Canmore Parks Department. Find it on the corner of Elk Run Boulevard and Canyon Road. A small ice surface is beside the rink for toddler use. This rink features night lights that are on until 10pm.
