Canmore Museums
The Canmore Museum and Geoscience Centre delves deep into Canmore's past, including its rich railway and coal mining history. The area's heritage is preserved through a variety of exhibitions and interpretive programs year round. A gift shop is located on site.
Located at the Canmore Public Library, the Canmore Public Art Gallery provides exhibition space for members of the Canmore Artists and Artisans Guild (CAAG) and other local artists.
The Northwest Mounted Police Barracks was built in 1892 to curb Canmore's chronic bootlegging problem. Now a Provincial Historic Site, the tiny barracks feature antique furnishings and artifacts. A tearoom is on site and visitors can also enjoy a small garden. Donations are welcome.
