Jun 13 to 15 Canmore ArtSPeak Arts Festival is a festive weekend long event celebrating all things creative and artistic in the mountains. With many free and colorful events happening, there is sure to be something for people of all ages to participate in. Roaming street performers, an artFair, workshops, a community mural project, artWalks, artDrives, concerts, book readings, film screenings and much more are all part of this festive event for the whole town.

Canada Day Celebrations Jul 1 Canmore's Canada Day celebrations kick off at 7:30am with a free breakfast in Centennial Park, followed by a parade down main street at noon, a marching band performances in Centennial Park at 1:30pm, and wrap up with fireworks at 10:30pm.

Jul 26 to 27 The World Solo 24 Hour Championship mountain-biking event is held in Canmore during July. The race includes a figure eight course at the Canmore Nordic Centre which can be well viewed along the way by cheering spectators. This much-anticipated event attracts 1,400 athletes, competing in teams, and about 3,000 spectators.

Aug 2 to 4 The Canmore Folk Music Festival is Alberta's longest-running folk festival. Held on the Heritage Day long weekend (Saturday through Monday the first weekend in August), the festival has become one of the most successful "happenings" in Canmore's annual calendar.

Dec 5 to 7 Canmore is an ice-climber's paradise with a deluge of accessible ice falls in the area. Every winter, the fun and challenge is brought right into the centre of town with an ice climbing wall erected in Centennial Park giving everyone the opportunity to try. Clinics, slide show presentations, demos, competitions and a big party have everyone chilling out over a weekend packed with fun and ice.

Kid n Mutt Races TBA In conjunction with the Canmore Winterfest and Canmore Classic Sled Dog Races, the Kid n Mutt Races is a family-oriented event inviting kids to try out dog sledding. Participants are reminded that dogs will be not be provided - BYOM (bring your own mutt).
The 2008 Canmore Classic has been canceled. Races will continue in 2009.
