This freestyle competition is an all girls slopestyle event aimed at giving locals a chance to have fun and flaunt their stuff.

The event is part of a series with six competitions throughout Canada and the US, including one at Sunshine Village in February, and a final being held in Lake Tahoe in April ($10,000 cash purse).

What is the Mountain Smoker? It's an epic event held every spring at Norquay to see how many runs skiers can log on the Lone Pine in three hours. That's three hours of intense skiing that will create a reputation to last a lifetime!

The current record held by Bob Rankin (1981) is 22 runs in 3 hours (30,000 vertical feet)

Entry forms can be picked up from Mountain Magic Equipment in Banff or Mt Norquay Guest Services. Competitors can enter on competition day.

Ski Norquay will be celebrating its last weekend of skiing with a Spring Fling and its annual Dummy Downhill. Participants can build their own dummy and launch it off a huge jump, with the dummies being scored for creativity and style. Visitors can enjoy the spectacle, as well as an outdoor BBQ and beer gardens.

Entry to the downhill entitles participants to discount lift tickets and all midweek passes will be valid for Norquay's last weekend.

The World Solo 24 Hour Championship mountain-biking event is held in Canmore during July. The race includes a figure eight course at the Canmore Nordic Centre which can be well viewed along the way by cheering spectators. This much-anticipated event attracts 1,400 athletes, competing in teams, and about 3,000 spectators.

A Celtic festival presented annually on the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend, including highland dance, piping and drumming, heavy sports, sheep dog demonstrations, massed bands, clan tents, Celtic wares and traditional food and beverages.

The heated festival tent starts the day with a pancake breakfast moves to lunch and a beer tent with non-stop entertainment.The evening Ceilidh is a spirited celebration of music and dance, kitchen-party fashion. A magical forest of decorated trees and lights sets the scene for a variety of events over 4 days to bring together families and people from Canmore, Calgary and area. Groups of school children visit for special Christmas crafts and entertainment, curlers take part in a Festival bonspeil, families come to see the trees and experience the enchanting atmosphere, seniors join us for tea, and the adult highlight of the weekend is a Saturday night celebration of food, drink and music amongst the trees. What Town goes cross country skiing for four days on their Main Street?

Canmore Alberta does! We will be Celebrating the Haywood Ski Nationals in March with the Canmore Ski Nationals Community Celebrations. There will be a Cross Country Ski Track on Main Street for four days and many exciting events and fun activities. These activities will include Welcome Ceremonies, Fast and Female, Jackrabbit Races, public usage time with free rentals from Trail Sports, Canmore Nordic Centre Athlete fun races, Dog sled activities and much, much more. Join us Downtown Canmore for these great events in March. This event is presented by the Canmore Destination Marketing Fund and The Canmore Downtown Business Association (BRZ).
